The number one sport here is soccer (called “football” in Africa). Team play teaches children cooperation, discipline, and sportsmanship. Soccer can occupy children outside of the school day. It is a platform allowing a family to participate, spectating, coaching, or play. The field offers students and adults alike a place to practice the values being taught. It has great value to the school and to the community.
The estimated cost for the grading of the field, planting of grass, and purchase of nets and soccer balls is approximately $2,500.00 US.
